2013 Indie Rock LP - 10th Year Anniversary Copies Pressed on Ltd Edition Sky Blue Vinyl + 3 Bonus Tracks not On Original

The bright and polished New York indie-pop duo Cults gave us a fantastic self-titled debut a couple of years ago, and now follow it up with a second album called Static. This time around, Shane Stoneback, the man who produced that debut album, shares production duties with Ben Allen, who most famously helmed Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion. The album is a glorious fireball of Effortlessly glamourous indie rock with a pop edge. If you love Saint Etienne or Spector produced 60's girl groups - you'll love this.

First time on colour vinyl with 3 never-heard before bonus tracks! Static is the follow-up to Cults' critically adorned 2010 self-titled, debut release. Written and recorded over the course of 2012 in the band's home base of New York City, Static is produced by Cults with support from Shane Stoneback (Sleigh Bells, Vampire Weekend) and Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Washed Out). The album is comprised of 11 tracks including lead single "I Can Hardly Make You Mine", "High Road" and the platinum-certified crowd favourite "Always Forever,” which is currently the band’s most popular track. In celebration of the 10th anniversary, the Static reissue will feature never-heard bonus tracks on a sky blue color vinyl

Last FM Information on Cults

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Cults are an American indie pop duo formed in 2010, consisting of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion who are both native San Franciscans. Their music is distinguished by strong influences from early 1960s Brill building style pop, and electronic beats. Follin and Oblivion were attending school in New York City (Oblivion was a documentary film student at NYU; Follin was studying at the New School). A couple at the time, they wrote and recorded songs in Oblivion's apartment using a computer and a cheap MIDI keyboard, and before the year was over, they released their self-titled debut EP on Forest Family Records. With the success of one of the EP's songs, "Go Outside", the band rerecorded much of its material for their self-titled debut album Cults. In October 2013, Cults returned with their second album, Static. Recorded with Stoneback in the wake of Follin and Oblivion's breakup, it won strong reviews for its emotive songwriting and peaked at number 114 on the Billboard Top 200. Following the 2014 single "Being It," Cults took some time off. In 2016, Follin formed the group Follin with her brother Richie, and released the single "Roxy" that February. Read more on Last.fm.
