Dorian Electra Fridkin Gomberg is an American singer, songwriter and performance artist known for their theatrical approach to pop music, blending elements of hyperpop, electropop, and experimental electronic production with conceptual storytelling around gender, identity and cultural archetypes. Their discography includes the studio albums Flamboyant (2019), My Agenda (2020), and Fanfare (2023). Electra first gained national attention in 2010 with the viral music video I'm in Love with Friedrich Hayek, a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Austrian economist that sparked discussion in political and academic circles. They continued this early phase with Roll with the Flow and We Got it 4 Cheap (2011), both of which were covered by mainstream media, with the latter placing second in the Lloyd V. Hackley Endowment's "Supply and Demand Video Contest". In 2012, Electra interned at the production company Emergent Order and released FA$T CA$H, further developing their satirical, economics-inspired pop style. That same year, they released Party Milk, marking a shift toward more surreal and visually symbolic work. Between 2014 and 2017, Electra built a distinctive online presence through a series of conceptual and educational videos exploring philosophy, gender and sexuality. Notable works include What Mary Didn't Know, as well as collaborations with Refinery29 such as Ode to the Clitoris, The History of Vibrators, 2000 Years of Drag and Control. In 2017, Electra released the single Jackpot, addressing gender fluidity, and was featured on Charli XCX's Femmebot from the mixtape Pop 2. Electra’s debut studio album, Flamboyant (2019), established their signature aesthetic, combining baroque pop imagery with modern internet culture. Their second album, My Agenda (2020), expanded on these ideas with heavier production and themes centered on masculinity in online spaces. On October 6, 2023, Electra released their third studio album, Fanfare, preceded by the singles Freak Mode, Sodom & Gomorrah, anon, Puppet and Idolize. During this era, Electra collaborated with Tove Lo on i like u (Dorian Electra Remix) (2023). In 2024, Electra released We Invented Love with Frost Children and altgrandma. That same year, Sega Bodega released Teenage Dirtbag featuring Dorian Electra, a track originally recorded in 2020. In 2026, Electra initiated a new era with the singles Fake Denim and Shutting Up, the first releases from their upcoming fourth studio album.
