DESCRIPTION:
Trance / Tech 4 TrackerWelcome to Retropolis! Known for the inimitable Can’t Stop with Coloray, an unhealthy obsession with vintage music machines, a baroque style in the use of synthesizer melodies and a forewarn-looking approach to the past, Chris Barratt’s music as Eagles & Butterflies can be as fun-loving as melancholically beautiful. For his long overdue debut on Running Back, the english man dishes out a bit of both in a healthy bowl of broth.

Retropolis is not only the direction giving title, but bold and bonny at the same time. That its working title was Italo should tell you all you need to know. Suitable for big rooms, major moments, minor miracles and sophisticated car chase scenes alike. Faster takes off in another direction. Imagine two people falling in love during a bumper car ride – heartfelt vocals included.

On the flip side E&B follows a similar state of equilibrium. Like the highs and lows and ups and downs in a John Hughes movie, it also showcases the characteristics of two synthesizer classics: the exuberant piano version of Juno Ninja (please look at the digital release for a version devoid of it) offsets the poignant and plangent vibe of CS-80. In summary: made with lots of synthesizers and for fans of keyboard music. And always keep in mind: the future sounds

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. They have sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 100 million in the United States. The band has received five American Music Awards, six Grammy Awards, and achieved six number-one albums and five number-one singles in the US. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and were ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone’s 2010 list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". The founding members—Glenn Frey (guitar, vocals), Don Henley (drums, vocals), Bernie Leadon (guitar, vocals), and Randy Meisner (bass guitar, vocals)—had previously worked with Linda Ronstadt, playing on her self-titled third solo studio album (1972) before forming the Eagles on David Geffen’s Asylum Records. Their debut album, "Eagles" (1972), produced the top-20 singles "Take It Easy" and "Witchy Woman" in the US and Canada. The follow-up, "Desperado" (1973), reached number 41 in the US. Guitarist Don Felder joined in 1974, and the album "On the Border" included the top-40 hit "Already Gone" and the band’s first number-one single in the US and Canada, "Best of My Love". In 1975, the album "One of These Nights" became the Eagles’ first number-one album in the US and a top-ten album in several countries, featuring the US number-one single "One of These Nights" and the top-five songs "Lyin’ Eyes" and "Take It to the Limit". That same year, Leadon left the band and was replaced by guitarist and vocalist Joe Walsh. Their compilation album "Greatest Hits (1971–1975)" (1976) became the best-selling album in the US, with 40 million copies sold. The release of "Hotel California" later that year sold more than 28 million copies in the US and over 32 million worldwide. The album produced two number-one singles in the US and Canada, "New Kid in Town" and "Hotel California", the latter of which reached the top ten in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and several European countries, including number two in France. Randy Meisner was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit in 1977. The Eagles’ last studio album before a long hiatus, "The Long Run" (1979), included the North American number-one single "Heartache Tonight" and the top-ten hits "The Long Run" and "I Can’t Tell You Why". The band broke up in 1980 but reunited in 1994 to release "Hell Freezes Over", a combination of live and new studio tracks, and toured consistently thereafter. In 2007, they released "Long Road Out of Eden", their sixth US number-one album, and launched the Long Road Out of Eden Tour in 2008. In 2013, they began the extended History of the Eagles Tour alongside the release of the documentary "History of the Eagles". Following Glenn Frey’s death in January 2016, the band re-formed in 2017 with Frey’s son, Deacon Frey, and country singer Vince Gill sharing lead vocals for Frey’s songs. Deacon Frey left the band in 2022 but returned in 2023 for the ongoing final tour. Randy Meisner died in 2023. Last FM Information on Butterflies

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Butterflies is the songwriting project of singer/guitarist Josh Kimbrough. Josh has been writing songs since he was fifteen and has established his prolific musical life by fronting such bands as Mortar and Pestle, Westfalia, and Straight No Chaser as well as contributing significantly to Trekky Records' house band, Auxiliary House. With Butterflies, Josh has retained many of the elements of his previous projects, while increasing the care given to the craft of pop songwriting. While Kimbrough’s signature fluttering guitar lines and vocals are still the bedrock of his compositions, his newfound focus on mature and concise pop songs has lead him to create more fully-realized musical statements than ever before. Butterflies will release a series of EPs available at live shows before preparing for a Trekky full length. Josh has employed a cast of Trekky regulars to help him from time to time. These musicians include Martin Anderson, Bobby Britt, Ross Connolly, Travis Diehl, Joe Norkus and Katie Zickefoose. Read more on Last.fm.
